10,000th Spam

Yes, the blog got some 10,000+ spams already. I dont know how the blog attracted that much spam. Akismet is doing its job but a lot of times I need to review it some some blogger friends comments are also stuck in the spam folder (False positives eh!). Thats all for now!

April Updates

Been traveling lately but I'm doing my best to have some posts for the blog. I temporarily removed the facebook fan widget and the global translator widget. The facebook widget seem to be causing some slowdown. For the global translator, I've heard from a fellow blogger that it has some issues, so I need to verify that when Im back in manila.
Some games updates: I'm currently hooked with Social City and Hotel City, so you will see some activities like social city cheats and hotel city cheats. Zynga did some preview on Mafia Wars Paris, so I'm blogging about it too.

Update to Wordpress 2.8 etc

I updated my blog to WordPress 2.8. The look and feel is like 2.7. WP.org site says that they tweaked performance, and yes I noted some improvements on the admin console. Before major WP update, I backed up the db and wp files.

I also tried the wasabi related post plugin. Hope it won't mess up my feeds this time.

2000 + Twitter Thing etc.

Some updates for this week.
1. Spam count broke the 2000th mark! Long Live the Spammers :)
2. I'm boosting out this twitter thing. I used the twit this post code and mixed it up with some cute twitter bird icon I found in the net.
3. I also tried the twittercounter. I placed it beside the feedburner widget.
4. Removed the Widgetbucks. It's been months and still I've got nothing out of it. It will free up some space, that will be useful in the future.
5. I posted some Mybrute Cheats. I hope it can help other mybrute fan out there.

1000th Spam

Kill the spammers :)
The 1000th spam mark registered during the holidays.

No new stuffs for my blog, I have done some sort of self-imposed no-blogging day/s during the holy week. That's all for now.

Some changes in the blog

Spams at 600+ now.
And then I did a whole backup of the blog since I am planning some major changes for the blog.
To note:
1. Delete Admin Account and replace a more secure one - Done
2. Try out another related post plugin - pending
3. Try other plugins - pending

It's the related post plugin

Yep! It's the (most likely) culprit for my feed problem. Except for this related post feature, all the rest of the plugins are back. I also put back the infolink. So updates and posts should be more regular this week.

I have so many topics in mind, but I need to focus. It's really feels good to be back in the game.

Feed fixed

Yehey! I have fixed my feeds. It was really a hard time for me and my blog this week, been very busy with work and some other stuffs.

I have not pin-pointed the exact one but the culprit may be one of the plugins I recently installed.

Seeing my feed with no error feels like winning the Philippine Lotto :)

Kk! got some catching up to do!

Spam count and other updates

Here are some updates:
1. Comment policy is in place :)
2. 400+ spam count now.
3. No captcha yet.
4. Related post plugin in effect. I think it's good since readers will go more to related articles in your blog.
5. Eheads concert post views peaked during the day of the concert.
6. And last but not the least, I think I messed up with my feed.

I've been busy with a lot of other things. But life goes on....

200 spam comments

Wow after the 100th spam mark comes the 200th ... in just a span of 10 days. Next post on this topic may 500 or 1000... who knows!

I'm really considering to put captcha plugin there.

And remember the comment policy page and all those techie things to post. As well as the related post plugin.

But as the song goes:

Google Analytics

I recently setup Google analytics for my main blog. It is showing up some good stuffs and its free :) They have a cool plugin in WP to do it with great ease and simpleness. They say you can even integrate it to adsense.

Will tinker with it more and update you all

100th spam message blocked

Akismet blocked its 100th spam message in Menardconnect.com :)
I guess this is some sort of a milestone. They say that when you're blog starts to get traffic then comment spammers follows. So this means....

Global Translator Plugin

I installed Global Translator plugin. This is amazing plugin and you will envy your blog afterwards since it will look more smart-ass than the author (language-wise). I enjoyed reading my post in Spanish and Portuguese :)

I believe this is a good move SEO-wise. Will keep you all posted on the developments related to this translator engine.
